I was XO from 4/71 to 1/73.

To: Harry Workman

I saw your posting, and remember you. You were a BM1, right? I also recall going into DaNang in '71 to inspect the Delong pier section, which we then towed to Subic. We lost our only HF radio on the way out and made the trip without communications while dodging a typhoon. The Bos'n's name was Chuck Cooper, I believe. He was an ex-QMC(SS). John Renwick was the CO then.

Served on board the Abnaki as a deck seaman from late 1960 to mid 1963. Would like to hear from anyone during that time period.

This is for anyone on the Abnaki from 1969 to 1972 does anyone remember going on liberty in Vung Tao I have some of the Deck Log but it does not mention it??? Harry Workman did you get a clarification on the pier inspection date in Da Nang ??
